Kicking off our 13th annual ClioCon in Boston, Clio’s CEO and Founder, Jack Newton set the tone for the two days with his opening keynote built on this year’s theme—Uniting Brilliance—and examined how innovation and technology are propelling the legal profession into a new era of transformation.
We had our biggest wave of product announcements in ClioCon history, with Jack announcing Clio Operate (for large law firms), Vincent by Clio, Clio Work, Manage AI, and Clio Grow and Clio Draft’s new AI capabilities, unveiling Clio’s vision for the intelligent legal work platform that’s set to replace traditional practice management software and redefine how legal professionals work. ClioCon 2025 product and feature announcements
During Jack’s keynote, he unveiled some of our most transformative innovations yet, designed to change not only how firms run their businesses, but how legal work itself gets done.
From transforming enterprise case management to reimagining research, drafting, and everyday workflows for all firm sizes with AI, Clio’s newest innovations mark a major step forward for the legal industry. Together, these products set a new benchmark for how technology powers the practice and business of law.
Clio for Enterprise: Large law firm case management, reimagined
One of our biggest announcements at ClioCon this year was the launch of Clio Operate (formerly ShareDo), a trusted platform used by some of the world’s largest law firms for over a decade. Now, as part of the Clio family, it’s becoming even more powerful.
Clio Operate brings every matter, document, and workflow into one adaptive system designed for scale. The results speak for themselves: reducing case lifecycles by up to 40%, creating new matters 80% faster, and increasing fee-earner capacity by 30%. Now integrated into the Clio ecosystem, Clio Operate becomes the backbone of the world’s largest law firms and corporate legal departments, enhancing their operations with the research power of Vincent by Clio, the depth of over one billion legal documents in Clio Library, and the litigation intelligence of Clio Docket.
We couldn’t be more excited to introduce Clio for Enterprise and to support the largest firms in the world with technology that’s built for them, today and tomorrow.

Clio Library*: A new era of legal research
Legal research is an essential part of a lawyer’s work, and we’re thrilled to introduce Clio Library, as the first legal research platform built seamlessly into the way you already manage your firm and serve your clients.
With access to over 1 billion legal documents from 100+ countries, Clio Library delivers research that is always accurate and always current. It’s more than search: it’s smarter research that helps lawyers uncover connections faster, build stronger arguments, and move client work forward with confidence.
With Clio Library, you can:
- Research with confidence. Daily updates from courts, governments, and regulators worldwide ensure you’re never relying on outdated law.
- Find connections that matter. Advanced tools like the Precedent Map and Key Passages go beyond keyword searches to reveal relationships between cases, highlight the most cited legal reasoning, and track how precedents evolve over time.
- Stay ahead of change. Chronological citation tracking reveals how legal principles evolve over time, helping you adjust your strategy with clarity.
- Work the way you think. Whether you prefer guided discovery, precision Boolean queries, or cross-jurisdictional comparison, Clio Library adapts to your research style.
Clio Library gives lawyers time back by eliminating the guesswork in legal research. With accurate, always-current sources built right into Clio, firms can focus on their clients instead of chasing down information.

Manage AI: The next evolution of Clio Duo
When we launched Clio Duo at the end of last year, it quickly became a trusted assistant for thousands of legal professionals, helping them reclaim as much as five hours each week by making everyday tasks faster and easier. Now, Duo has evolved into something bigger…
Manage AI is a complete reimagining of Clio Duo, building on Duo’s foundation and expanding it into a firm-wide productivity engine living within Clio Manage. With Manage AI you can:
- Stay ahead of deadlines: Automatically extract deadlines directly from court documents, schedule key dates, and keep your calendar in sync (reducing the risk of missed deadlines).
- Plan your day with confidence: Surface priorities, reminders, and create tasks, notes, events, and expenses so it’s easier to keep matters moving forward.
- Accelerate billing and cash flow: Auto-generate draft invoices, route bills to the right approvers, set up billing parameters, and configure end-of-month billing.
- Eliminate manual filing: Save emails, receipts, and attachments to the correct matter automatically, ensuring every file is in the right place for the right people.
- Automate workflows: Build tasks, stages, and checklists that keep matters progressing, so your staff can focus on high-value activities instead of repetitive setup.
- Compose on demand: Draft motions, letters, and client updates, and pull summarizations of lengthy documents into clear, actionable takeaways.
The result? Fewer bottlenecks, faster payments, and more bandwidth for client service.
Clio Draft: Now supercharged with AI
Clio Draft has always helped legal professionals save hours on document automation. Now, with AI built right in, it’s even faster and easier to go from first draft to final document.
The new AI-powered template builder lets you instantly convert your own documents into reusable templates, skipping the time-intensive setup that usually slows firms down. Once your templates are ready, AI-powered client questionnaires automatically follow up to collect the details you need, without the tedious back-and-forth of manual communication.
For Clio Draft users, this means less time spent setting up and chasing down information, and more time delivering value to clients. Firms can start automating documents from day one, freeing their teams from repetitive admin tasks and focusing on higher-value work.
The best part? Adding AI functionality comes at no additional cost to Clio Draft users.
What’s the difference between Vincent AI and Manage AI?
Vincent by Clio focuses on the practice of law by helping with legal research, analysis, strategy, and workflows, while Manage AI supports the business of law by automating tasks such as billing, scheduling, filing, and document summarization—all in one place.

Keynote Speaker Highlights

Esther Perel: Building Bridges, Winning Cases: Mastering Relational Intelligence in Legal Practice
Renowned psychotherapist and bestselling author Esther Perel brought a deeply human perspective to the future of legal work. Drawing on her decades of experience studying relationships and workplace culture, she explored how relational intelligence, the ability to navigate trust, belonging, recognition, and resilience, shapes every successful organization. Through audience exercises and real-life case studies from Clio customers, she showed how the paradoxes lawyers face daily, between autonomy and interdependence, logic and emotion, security and adventure, can actually be powerful sources of connection and creativity when managed intentionally.
Her keynote reminded attendees that while law is built on evidence, it’s powered by relationships—and strengthening those relationships is key to building healthier, more collaborative, and more fulfilling firms.
Richard Susskind: How to Think About AI
Professor Richard Susskind OBE, KC (Hon), challenged the ClioCon audience to look beyond automation and imagine how artificial intelligence will truly transform justice. Drawing on decades of research, from his early work in AI law in the 1980s to today’s generative breakthroughs, he reminded us that we’re still in the early chapters of AI’s story.
Susskind outlined six hypotheses for where humanity and AI may intersect, from short-term hype to the possibility of artificial general intelligence and even superintelligence. While opinions differ, one thing is clear: the pace of progress is accelerating, and adoption lags behind, it’s time for lawyers to dive in. For firms, the competitive edge will belong to those who embrace innovation rather than resist it.
He urged legal professionals to think beyond efficiency gains and consider how AI can help deliver legal outcomes in new, client-centered ways. In the short term, AI will improve productivity; in the long term, it will reshape how people access and experience justice.
JJ Velazquez: From Sing Sing to the Supreme Court: Resilience, Reform, and the Power of Gratitude
Jon-Adrian “JJ” Velazquez’s keynote reminded us why justice reform is deeply human work. Speaking to thousands of legal professionals, both in-person at virtually, JJ shared his powerful journey from wrongful conviction to full exoneration after 27 years behind bars. His story exposed the cracks in our legal system while spotlighting the resilience, purpose, and gratitude that carried him through unimaginable hardship.
JJ’s message was one of hope and responsibility. He called on the legal community to use its influence to build a fairer, more compassionate system—one that listens, reforms, and never loses sight of the people behind every case. His words left the audience inspired to lead with empathy and use the law as a true force for good.
